Training, consultancy and support

Insight can offer your organisation the training or support you need. This may be a one-off requirement or something more regular. This may include:

Clinical System Training

Insight can develop flexible training programmes, designed to meet the needs of the role staff play in supporting primary care. For example, primary care support staff request training on more advanced features, such as searches/reports, data entry templates, protocols & concepts. This will enable them to support and guide practices with a greater level of confidence & knowledge. We are also frequently asked to deliver training to medicines management teams – around the use of prescribing modules and searches/reports to ensure they are easily able to extract the data they need in one go without having to cross-reference a number of searches. Clinical system training can be delivered on Emis Web, SystmOne and Vision.

Other IT Training

Main requests include QOF and read code training (V2 and CTv3). Again this is an area where your primary care support teams are required to guide practices, they are a requirement for many enhanced services and other locality-based projects.

Consultancy & Support

Many practices commission Insight consultants to work with them on a regular basis – this may be as a replacement to them employing a data/IT manager or to cover maternity/sick leave. The same can apply to a CCG/CSU. Projects we are currently working on include:

  1. Back-fill support – additional pair of hands on your support desk to help with practice queries and development of resources
  2. Prison training programmes – all of our consultants are accredited SystmOne trainers across GP and Prison systems so can provide appropriate training to your prison healthcare teams
  3. Specific projects – Insight work with CSU’s on projects such as data quality for SCR roll-out
  4. Maternity/Sick cover – Insight are employed by CCG/CSU’s to provide consultancy for maternity cover. For example, working with a CCG to run month end reports on Emis Enterprise and to collate and analyse practice data

Insight’s expertise ensure we can assist you as and when you need a solution – for more information or to discuss any areas of support you may require please contact us on 01527 557407 or email
