We are receiving lots of queries from practices struggling with CHOL003 –
Q: We are having issues with CHOL003 – Consider statin or other lipid-lowering therapy – this is still outstanding although we have used Statin declined (XaIIl) (SNOMED: 134396000)
A: statin is just the recommended first line therapy. If the patient has declined just the statin they are still eligible for another lipid lowering therapy (Ezetimibe, Bempedoic Acid, PCSK9 inhibitors, Inclisiran). You either need to exclude them from each and every individual therapy or use a code that applies to all lipid lowering therapy such as ‘lipid lowering therapy declined’ (135826008)
BP targets, 140 points, worth £31,500 for the average practice. There are many top level PCA’s relevant to BP indicators, there are also many single-indicator PCA’s designed to ensure you are not disadvantaged where you have done all you can to offer care/reduce high BP’s. These include declined & maximum tolerated dose codes. It is essential you are aware of these and when it is appropriate to use them, they will make a huge difference to you year-end achievement and possibly your blood pressure.
