Please note, we have not used this product, however, having been asked about CoC calculators on multiple occasions, our research found a product which seems to be able to give practices the information they are seeking – and the best bit is it is free …

University of Bristol have developed a new calculator allowing practices to easily measure their continuity of care.

The Bristol Continuity of Care Calculator generates results using a range of well-recognised continuity metrics. These different measures are suitable for different types of practices, including those which have personal lists and those which provide continuity across a team of HCP’s. It can provide information from the last 2 years but can also provide scores for consultations in the last month.

This calculator is made freely available as a service to UK general practices, you just need to register to use it. Once you have provided your email address, you will receive the Bristol Continuity of Care Calculator, the computer search you require to run the tool and a complete User Guide.
