July 2025 insight-FUL – Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease annual review’ (394703002) will now put a patient on the COPD register – COPD finding and COPD Follow-up have also been added to the cluster. This came to light as some practices have reported an increase in their COPD register, in some cases, the increase is considerable.
These codes will be removed in due course, however, they remain a current problem. This could result in you inviting incorrect patients in for flu/pneumococcal as well as inviting them for COPD annual reviews even though they have not been diagnosed with COPD.
If a practice/company sets up the at-risk reports off the SF Business Rules, these codes won’t be included; if a practice/company sets up the at-risk reports off QOF registers they will.
