Coils  – FP34D claims

Our back-office coding team code lots of coils done outside of the practice.  To ensure you are correctly claiming for all coils in-house, we recommend to practices you exclude DocMAN user in your claim searches or output user so you can identify which ones have been performed in-house.

LD removal code

LD now has an excluded code which acts like a removal/remission code.  The cluster is: LDREM (LD excluded codes) and it contains a single code of Learning disability excluded (984051000000100). Although no longer part of QOF, useful to use for patients with historic entries which cannot be verified but the code cannot be removed

Residential Institute Flags

Many practices fail to correctly code patients in nursing homes.  Those with an RI flag will attract a higher global sum payment so it is essential you identify and code them on their registration page.  There was an issue identified last year and in some areas, practices have been informed by their ICB they can make a retrospective claim for missed flags.  These can be difficult to audit so if you need any help creating the audits to pick up missed claims, we can provide cost-effective consultancy by the hour. Please contact your ICB in the first instance to determine if you are able to make a retrospective claim.
