This month we have seen a massive uptake of practice consultancy days and I completely understand why - practice managers have this need to keep every plate spinning, this super-being who is an expert in HR, IT, finance, business development, facilities, complaints, flu & COVID clinics to name but a few. The job has become so reactive, patient demand is almost impossible to manage, there is just not enough hours to do what needs to be done.
On top of this there is now a sense of panic we’re more than half-way through the year and there are still so many targets to achieve; QOF, enhanced services, IIF, local performance indicators - the achievement numbers are just not going quickly enough in the right direction.
So why invest in regular consultancy days with Insight?
Because it is one huge area you can put to the back of your mind whilst we get on with helping you achieve your targets and quite frankly, there is too much income at stake to not achieve your targets. Having an extra pair of expert hands can save you so much time and it can be the difference between achieving targets and maintaining/improving your income or not which will result in you loosing thousands more £’s than the service will cost you.
What do we cover on our regular consultancy days?
The time is yours - we know what we need to do each month/quarter but our consultancy will keep regular track of all your performance indicators as well as other essential IT initiatives:
- QOF Prevalence Health Check
- Ensuring QOF achievements are on track and addressing any that fall behind before you run out of time
- Creating & running robust recall systems and marking patient records accordingly
- Enhanced Services - identifying/recalling target patients, developing robust processes including data entry templates and claim searches to validate accurate claims
- Local improvement schemes - identifying/recalling target patients, developing robust processes including data entry templates and claim searches to validate accurate claims
- Creating & combining resources across areas that fall into different schemes i.e. learning disabilities, BP’s (a one-stop-shop to ensure you are capturing all information in one go)
- Managing clinical correspondence - ensuring your systems are configured to cut down clinical intervention as much as possible
- Appointment analysis & reporting
- General staff training & development
- Your every day development requests to help manage time-consuming processes quicker, consistently and more efficiently
- Help embed new initiatives such as on-line consultations, patient access, etc.
We work across all clinical systems, in practices large and small - you all have the same issues, not enough time, turn-over of staff, not having time to really understand how your IT systems can help you if they are configured correctly. In many cases, you have a supply of resources provided and funded by the ICB but what you really need is a real-life human to actually do the work for you.
