Patients taking lithium have always been included on the MH register – even if they have no other diagnosis to include them.
This has changed this year – patients taking lithium with no other MH diagnosis are no longer included on the register.
Patients taking lithium require regular monitoring and are likely to be included on your high risk drugs register. However, if they are generally recalled and monitored because they are on the QOF MH register, you will need to ensure you recall them another way. It is likely target patients will be minimal but we recommend you checking.
