Eligible cohorts include older adults and pregnant women. Practices should actively recall patients aged 75 years and older and vaccinate residents of care homes for older adults (CHOA); aged 65 to 74 years of age with immunosuppression or high-risk chronic respiratory disease (not including well-controlled asthma) as described in the Green Book.
Practices must also call and recall all residents of CHOA who are registered with the practice and eligible for an RSV vaccination. This includes issuing initial invitations (via coordinated engagement with care home management if required), undertaking at least two further recall attempts for non-responders, and ensuring a clinician-led third contact where required.
Most residents of CHOA will fall into the older adult category, and data extracted via GPES/CQRS automatically (using appropriate codes). Where patients in CHOA are vaccinated at age 55 years or younger, you will need to make a manual claim for payment.
