Digital Pathways Reimbursement

As a result of delays to the Digital Pathways Framework the national support is being enhanced to enable ICBs to take advantage of the available funding to support uplifted digital tools to support Modern General Practice (MGP). MGP is designed to provide digital tools to practices to help alleviate pressures, from initial online contact, patient contacts with the practice & care navigation to name but a few.

The approach for 2024/25 is to align the selection, buying and reimbursement of products with the new standards and capabilities to support MGP. These capabilities will cover digital pathways tools and the expanded scope to include demand and capacity management tools.

ICBs need to:

  • Understand patient and practice user needs to support informed purchasing
  • Engage with practices and patients and gather feedback on their experiences to better understand their needs
  • Undertake market engagement to explore the solutions and functionality available to meet your needs
  • Choose the right procurement vehicle via the Hub

With funding support currently available, this is an ideal time to really identify what you need as a practice to help alleviate the pressures you are facing.
